Cooperative Energy Futures sees energy efficiency as the first step in building people-powered solutions to the energy crisis and global warming. We work with groups of homeowners in the Twin Cities area to improve energy efficiency, save money on utility bills, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, all while fostering a sense of communal sustainability.
Cooperative Energy Futures also offers customizable workshops on do-it-yourself home energy efficiency. We cover the basics of heating and cooling and focus on practical fixes, such as caulking, sealing windows and doors, changing a faucet aerator, switching a thermostat, and understanding phantom loads in appliances. This workshop offers hands-on practice, and can be held in a home for real fixes, or any community space.
